As you begin your studies, we understand that you have goals and expectations for what you hope to achieve. These may change over time, and we know that life’s demands can sometimes affect your study pace. You might even find yourself ready to move to a higher level sooner than expected.

Extending Your Course Time
When you enrol on to a professional qualification with DLC Training we provide you with flexible and generous course support times to help you achieve a professional qualification alongside your other obligations. We appreciate that at times life can be a juggling act, and therefore, there may be an occasion where a learner is unable to complete their studies before their end date.
In these cases, we are delighted that we are able to offer learners the ability to extend their studies for an affordable fee.
Extensions are available in 3 month bundles. Please note an extension is the course support time provided to you by DLC Training. This fee does not extend any membership or registration you may be required to maintain for your specific programme of study (as dictated by our awarding bodies). If you have any questions on extending your studies, such as which time option is better for you, the Study Support Team are on hand to help.
Learners are required to maintain an active course time in order to submit work and receive feedback. Please consider the marking timescales when calculating which extension you require.
Course time can be extended prior to your course end date. After this time, you will require a Course Time Renewal which incurs an additional administration fee.

Course Registrations
Registrations must be live throughout your course time, including the Marking periods, On Hold periods, Extensions and verification processes.
Registrations are not included in course extensions and/or time renewals. If you purchase an extension or time renewal that exceeds the registration end date, you would be required to renew your registration also.

Course Hold and Professional Development Options
Course Hold and Professional Development Options
Additional support available to DLC learners
Learners with active course time can take a break from their studies at any point during their learning* by placing their course time on hold.
Studies can be placed on hold for a maximum of twelve months, either taken as one long period or spread across two separate occasions. A hold fee is payable each time studies are placed on hold.
There is a six-month and a twelve-month hold fee available via online payment. If a learner requires an invoice for this service, an additional administrative fee is applicable, as this service is designed to be offered as an online payment.
Upon receipt of payment, your course time is paused, with your remaining study time frozen for your hold period. While your course time is on hold, you cannot access the IoSCM Learning Platform, resources or support provided by us.
Placing your course time on hold will not freeze any membership or qualification registration, both should be maintained by yourself during your hold period.
You can resume your studies at any time during your chosen hold period by contacting the Study Support team advising that you are ready to restart your course. The team will calculate your new end date and reinstate your access and support. Once this is completed, should you wish to resume your hold period, you will be required to purchase a new hold fee.
Your course time will be automatically restarted the day your hold period is due to expire. We strongly encourage you to contact us before this date to ensure you have everything you need to get back on track with your learning. This will prevent you from not utilising your active course time in a beneficial way.
To calculate your current active course time, please revisit your welcome email sent when you commenced your studies. We advised that you save or bookmark the email (the correspondence was titled ‘Welcome to your Studies’ and contained your login details for the learning platform and the other important information you needed to get started).

For Business Funded Learners
If you require an invoice for either hold fee, please contact the Study Support team advising them of the full invoice details and which hold service you require. Invoices are only available for payments to be made by businesses. Please ensure that your business is aware of your decision to place your studies on hold.
*Learners with less than 28 days of active course time cannot place their studies on hold. Please speak with a Study Support team member about your options.
